A
new AWOS contract was signed with York Technical Services of
Albuquerque. He comes over quarterly to service our equipment and has
been very responsive to any needs we have had from time to time. The
backup power supply/surge protector unit caused the CPU to shut down
which baffled us for a while before figuring out that to be the cause.
It was replaced and everything is working well again.
PRAA replaced campground grinder
pumps after failure of both pumps. There seemed to be a large amount of
oil in the equipment so the town was alerted to be careful what was put
into the system since this services the Town Yard bathroom. The town
contributed to part of this expense.
Generator
contract with Empire is going well. This seems to be solid equipment we
can count on. They serviced it last month and found no problems.
Hangar One
agreement was signed by all parties and satisfied both sides for now.
PRAA is working diligently to bring all tenants into uniform compliance
with their leases.
Beth was hired
9-8-10. She has been with PRAA one year and will be enjoying her one
week of vacation in the near future. An Employee Handbook was created
to address employer-employee relations. Beth attends Business Buzz and
Mixers and gives multiple airport presentations. Meet & greet
activities on ramp are done regularly as solid public relations and to
identify any potential economic opportunities.
Our Operations
Manual created last fall and is a fluid document in that changes are
made to it as needed.
Bull Dog (an ATV)
acquisition provides enhanced ability to service airport needs.
Landscaping
improvements & regular maintenance with our part time helper, Kenny
Lucas has proved invaluable. The volunteer network seems to have
evaporated so being able to effectively use his labor as needed as
replaced the absent volunteers.
New treasurer,
new directors/officers were voted into office this summer.
Public restroom
and office were cleaned and painted. The sink in the bathroom was
replaced thanks to a generous donation by Steve and Becky Vaught.
Signs around the
airport and campground are in place now giving clear definition of
locations.
Replaced several lights on hangars
and at campground so all are functioning again.
Box hangar roof repaired after a
couple of years of leaking with heavy rains.
Replaced windsock on West end of
airport and at Delta gate.
Replaced flags above Delta ramp
Forest Service
had mild, almost non-season, leaving the end of August, 2011
Honor
current/past airport contributors with honorary signs on hangars of Jim
Jones and Rich Henry. An upcoming sign will be placed in Observation
area for Dave Davidson.
FOD BOSS acquired
and is used regularly
Tree stumps removed around field by
Doug & Myra Vik.
Volunteer efforts have lagged
substantially this year. |
